Mr Meow The Parking Attendant

I was at the car workshop having my car serviced. Usually I will wait in the office but on that particular day, I decided to take a short walk to the nearby wet market to buy some fruits. On my way back from the wet market, I passed by this empty plot of land next to the workshop that is used as parking lots.

There is usually a woman seated under the wooden shed to collect parking fee from the customers. But at that time, the woman was no where to be seen. But I saw instead a big cat on the roof of a car parked next to the wooden shed. He is Mr Meow, the new parking attendant? I think he is taking his job very seriously!
I stopped to take a snapshot of this cat on the roof of the car.
It didn't move, instead it was looking straight at me, without a smile!
I took a few steps nearer to take a closer shot.
It snubbed me and looked away.
One of the many dogs found in the recreation park where we used to take our early morning walking exercise.
Something has got his full attention.

Found this dragonfly on my garden wall.
I caught this green grasshopper on my plant chewing on its leaves.
I rustled the leaves to chase it away but instead.....
It hopped onto the brick wall and stayed on the stainless steel cap.
Stubbornly it clung on.....shoo! shoo! shoo!
At last it moved and flew away....to another plant!
I gave up and let it be because the sun was beating down on me.

put together! For they gave a little of their extra fat,
while she gave up her last penny."

Enjoying Breakfast With Great Hill View

I have been wanting to post up these photos but somehow I kept postponing until now. Today is Skywatch Friday and I have enough of gloomy and haze filled skies. I was going through the folders on my desktop and I found these beautiful sky and hill photos. (Thanks to the heavy downpour, the haze is clearing up.)

We were here with our friends for breakfast few months ago. Our friends brought us here especially for the prawn noodles (har mein). Not easy to get good and tasty prawn noodles in our area.
We really missed the clear blue sky, clear view of Kledang Hills and to breathe in the cool, fresh air.
We enjoyed this prawn noodle. We like the taste.
Prawn noodles must come with the sambal.
Either you add the sambal to the soup or used it as a dipping sauce.
For those who do not like prawn noodle, seafood noodle also available.
There is a mobile stall selling roasted pork opposite the coffee shop.
For those meat loving customers, eating roasted pork with the noodles is a common thing.
Name of the shop: Kafe Island Kozato.
(There may be some changes taking place here. Last week when I was passing by this shop, I saw that the shop was closed and a noticed was posted up.)
The address of the coffee shop - Laluan Rasi Jaya 4B, Menglembu.

and will water the valley of acacias.

A Walk-In Factory Visit

Good morning! I am feeling cheerful today. After last night's downpour, the sky is much clearer and I can see the nearby hills. Early in the morning I was greeted by these sweet and lovely pink Dwarf Mexican Petunia blooms from my garden.
We were getting ready to go for breakfast at our friend's shop.
This is special wanton noodle, called the Tok Tok Wanton Mee,
not like the normal wanton mee you find in most coffee shops.
Ahhh! This one has special addition!
Crispy, freshly deep fried lard! Yums yums!
If you are curious to know where is this shop, click here for the address.
Later in the morning, I joined my friends for a walk-in factory visit.
We drove past a residential area and I snapped some nice fencing shots.
We were on our way to visit a woodworking factory.
All kinds of wooden moulds.
It is alright to visit during rest time.
When the workers are at work, wood dust will be everywhere.
Can you see the layer of fine wood dust on the working surface?
I was more interested in this giant jaw-like thing.
This reminded me of the movie "JAWS", directed by Steven Spielberg. After watching the movie, I dare not go swimming. That was many years ago.
Another object that caught my attention was this funny looking robot things. Someone was just trying to have some fun to brighten things up.
When I saw this, I remembered the cute robot in the factory.
This one has a nose but without eyes.

Lunch Date At Kedai Kopi Kwong Hong, Gunung Rapat

Every alternate Saturday afternoon, I go to Kampung Kepayang for visitation and also to help the children of the family I am visiting with some English lessons. It is about a 30 to 35 minutes drive from my house to Kampung Kepayang, depending on the traffic flow.
The haze has cleared slightly and at least we can see the nearby hills.

One Saturday afternoon, my hubby called me on my hand phone to meet him in Gunung Rapat. He invited me for a lunch date with him! Looking at the time, I still have time to join him for lunch before I go for the visitation.
We were here for our lunch date, ha ha ... how romantic!

We came here not for dating but for these goodies!

There were trays and trays of different varieties of goodies. These are fish paste stuffed goodies. Some are deep fried and some are non-fried.

Customers are to choose and pick what they want and place them in bowls. Then they will have to get their orders written down on a piece of paper.

Their orders will be placed according to first come first basis.

It was just a normal Saturday with no long weekend holidays but the coffee shop was packed with customers. We had a small table to ourselves.

Hubby ordered iced lime juice with salted sour plum. I ordered iced ambra or ambaralle juice with salted sour plum. Very refreshing.

We saw the next table enjoying chicken feet and I remembered a friend mentioned that this boiled or stewed chicken feet are very tasty. We added a bowl of this to our orders. Very tasty!

These are deep friend fish paste stuffed goodies.

These are non-fried fish paste stuffed goodies.

Hubby and I shared a bowl of assam laksa.

If you like these fish paste stuffed goodies, you can check out the place at Kedai Kopi Kwong Wong, Jalan Gunung Rapat, 31350 Ipoh. (opposite the Gunung Rapat market).

After lunch, hubby and I went our separate ways. He to meet his clients and I drove to Kampung Kepayang.

This includes you who were once so far away from God.
You were His enemies and hated him and were separated
from Him by your evil thoughts and actions,
yet now He has brought you back as His friends.

#1 - Wall Paintings In Menglembu

This particular morning I suggested to hubby to have breakfast in Menglembu as I have a special purpose. As we were coming out from Pete Corner after our dinner, hubby pointed out a wall painting in the back lane to me.

I like to collect photos of wall paintings and I walked over to take a look. I saw not one but many. The back lane was dark and not safe or possible to take photos of the wall paintings. I decided to return for the photos in the morning and the best time is breakfast time when it is not hot.
A few mornings later, we started out about 8.20 am in the hazy morning.

The whole place was misty and foggy. Once we reached the site, I wasted no time and hubby went to get his breakfast at the nearby coffee shop.

This was the first painting that hubby saw on the night we were at Pete Corner having our dinner. It says "Welcome to Menglembu Cultural Corridor".

This painting features the main ethnic groups of Malaysia. Malays, Chinese, Indians, Ibans and Kadazans.

The painting are drawn by local artists.

Dulang washers working at the tin mine.

Chinese drums - usually used for lion and dragon dances and etc.

Lion dance performance.

Charging buffaloes.

3 peanuts and a black dog on the left and a bullock cart on the right.

Menglembu was once famous for its groundnuts.

"I love Menglembu"
I love Menglembu too because of its many variety of yummy food! Will be posting more paintings in another post.

This black dog was chained, it didn't even bark at me.

This one was quietly watching my every move.

Blur view of the Kledang Hills, very popular with hikers.

The lantern festival was just celebrated less than a month ago.

So let us celebrate the festival,
not with the old bread of wickedness and evil,
but with the new bread of sincerity and truth.
